Vernon Theo Albert Kroll March 6, 1946 - January 12, 2008 Vernon Theo Albert Kroll of China Spring went to be with his Lord Saturday, January 12, 2008, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Services will be Tuesday, January 15th, 11:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead, with Reverend Walter Albers and Reverend Joel Boesche officiating. Interment to follow in China Spring Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Vernon was born to Walter and Ida Kroll in Riesel on March 6, 1946. He attended Riesel Schools. He married the love of his life, Linda Virginia Burt, on August 6, 1965. During his early career, Vernon managed several Piggly Wiggly food stores in Waco and Robinson. He was an independent paint contractor, and in recent years was co-owner of Kroll Kustom Homes with his son. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Louis Kroll. Survivors include his wife; son Todd Kroll and wife Terri of China Spring; daughter Krista Gottfried and husband Mike of Land O'Lakes, Florida; grandchildren Kevin and Katie Kroll and Jillian Kroll-Gottfried; sisters Gladys Heath and husband Bobby of Bryan; Dorothy Nelson of Riesel and Alice Bennett of Marlin; brothers Walter, Jr. and wife Linda of China Spring, Harold and wife Susan of China Spring, Edward and wife Mary of Waco and Charles and wife Ella Mae of Bruceville-Eddy. He had many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends who will miss him dearly. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kroll, Steve Kroll, Darrell Kroll, Kenneth Bennett, Lee Kroll, Randall Kroll, Brian Kerr, Duane Kerr, Cameron Owen, Kade Burt, Wendell Burt and Joe Burt. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Plagens, Roy Pipkorn, and Mike Kroll.
