Vicky Lynn Garrett was born on July 15, 1957, and passed away suddenly on the morning of October 6, 2023, at Providence Hospital in Waco. She was 66 years of age.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with Reverend Roy Marshall officiating. The family will receive guests at 9:00 a.m. before the service.
Vicky was born in Austin, Texas, and lived for a short while in Oak Cliff, Texas. She grew up and spent her adult life as a longtime resident in the Speegleville community. She was a graduate of China Spring High School. She had a 43-year career, from 1979 to 2022, with Packless Industries in Waco where she worked in Quality Control. Vicky cherished time with her family and her late husband, Charles, (Charlie) Glenn Garrett. She and Charlie were married from 2006 until his passing in 2021. She really enjoyed the times when everyone came for a visit and to have a meal as a family. In her younger years she loved to ride horses and later she and Charlie would spend time riding the “Harley” or taking the motor home to Lake Waco or to a bike rally. She was a great cook and a big fan of anything “Pioneer Woman.”
Vicky was preceded in death by her father, William Duward Brown; brother, Kenneth Lee Brown; and husband, Charles Glenn Garrett.
She is survived by her mother, Marcella Brown of Waco; brother, Michael Brown of Euless; son, Jack Hanna and wife April of China Spring; son, Steven Hanna of Waco; stepson, Billy Garrett of Waco; stepdaughter, Laurie Zimmerman and husband Jay of Waco; her grandchildren, Meagan Residori and husband Tyler of Waco, Jace, Cade, Casey and Maci Hanna all of China Spring, Tori Magers and husband Garrett of McGregor, Abigail Klotz and husband Lawson of Las Colinas, Walker Garrett of Waco, Kayla Zimmerman of Mcgregor, and Jake Zimmerman of Valley Mills; and great-grandchildren, Tucker Arndt, Ember Hanna, and Rynley Magers.
Vicky loved life, family, and her friends, too numerous to name.
