Victor Lopez

Victor “Boo” Lopez, 54, of Waco, died fighting cancer on March 11, 2018 at 11:11 a.m. in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 16th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Carlo Benjamin P. Magnaye officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest by his mother, Hope Hurtado Lopez. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15th at Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Victor “Boo” Lopez was born on July 20, 1963 in Waco, Texas, the youngest son of Vincent and Hope Lopez. He attended University High School graduating in 1981. Victor was a member of Sacred Heart Church, an honorary member of the Sacred Heart JJ Kearns Knights of Columbus, a life member of the Waco Missions Club and Pan American Golf Association member. He loved his family and was a devoted father to his children. Victor was a serious Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorn fan. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, and hanging out with his large group of friends. Victor never met a stranger, kind to everyone, he was a good man. Survivors include his wife, Nicole; two sons, Victor Nicholas Lopez and Andrew Tye; two daughters, Maggie Lynn Lopez and Jessica Smith and husband, Kenny Smith; grand-children Kenneth Smith III, Jaxon and Addison (Angel Girl) Smith; father, Vincent Lopez, Sr., one brother, Vincent Lopez, Jr. and wife Debbie; four sisters, Estella Laguna and husband, Bruce, Gloria Jimenez, and husband, George, Margie Cintron, and husband, Joe, and Rose Corujo; and his best friend, Carlos Gonzales. Pallbearers will be his nephews, George Jimenez, Jose Cintron, Josh Haley, Phillip Corujo, Daylon Lopez, and Ruben Romo, II. Honorary pallbearers are Carlos Gonzales, Robert Harn, Andre Villarreal, Tony Fraga, and John-Alex Vincent Lopez.
