Victor Manuel Montaner, Iii

February 27, 1971 — December 6, 2014

Victor Manuel Montaner, III February 27, 1971 December 6, 2014 Victor Manuel Montaner, III, loving father, devoted biker and servant for anyone in any need, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, Dec.6, 2014. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Jeff Bradburn officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. From 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 12, there will be a private family visitation with personnel from L3, Matus Electric and Union members. Vic was a devoted father to his two precious children, Kaylee Nicole Montaner and Kevin Thomas Montaner. Vic loved having Kevin by his side, and he instilled an amazing work ethic in Kevin from the time that Kevin was able to swing a hammer. Kevin was shown that service to humanity was a responsibility that his father took seriously, taking him to fund raisers and events to raise money for friends and family in need. One of their favorite things to do was to ride motorcycles together, again teaching Kevin the responsibility of being on the road and the importance of an outstanding group of like-minded motorcycle riders. His greatest joy was having his son by his side, teaching, teasing and talking about their plans for the future. Kaylee Nichole Montaner was her Daddy's little girl. He was delighted by her beauty, but even more by her intelligence. He told Kaylee many times that college was in her future and she could do great things. Vic often joked that he had to clear anyone that Kaylee dated and only then could she date the guy. Vic instilled in Kaylee the importance of family, and they spent hours doing things together to strengthen the bonds of family and friends. Vic is survived by his brother, Thomas Montaner. Vic and Thomas were best friends since childhood, and his loss is greatly felt. Vic and Thomas rode their bikes on adventures that Vic was always planning on them. Thomas and Vic would go to concerts. Vic was uncle to Thomas' two daughters, Tabitha and Madison Montaner. Victor is also survived by his father, Victor Manuel Montaner Jr. Vic would stop by for a visit, pick up supplies for his work, and eat a meal with us. Vic knew that at any time he needed anything for himself or his children, his dad was there for him and them. Victor Montaner, Jr., is employed at L-3 Communication. He taught his son that work was the way to succeed in life. Surviving Lil Vic, as we called him, is his loving mother, Patricia Dunn, of Rocky Point, Long Island. Vic always thought of New York as his home, even though he was an enthusiastic Texan by choice. Pat and Vic shared a special bond that only a mother and son can have. Lauren Montaner is Vic's baby sister. He was so proud of her and her zest for life. Though Lauren has faced major medical issues, she was able to laugh and make Vic laugh. His concerns over his sister's health were paramount in his mind. Also surviving Vic is his loving step-mother, Dawn Montaner, who loved to say he was her son by "marriage". Her delight was to be able to ask him to do tasks that his father couldn't do. He was always willing to help. The last request from Nana was to put Christmas lights on her house. Vic is also survived by two step-sisters, Victoria Downing and Amanda Harsh; and one step brother, Owen Wingate. Vic has been blessed to have an amazing grandmother, Mrs. Frieda Montaner of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and his aunt and uncles, Cynthia and Anthony Coppola, and Manyin Yee of Dallas. Vic is also survived by the mother of his children, Courtney King. Donations may be made to the educational account set up at Extraco Bank for Kaylee and Kevin. Donations can be made at all Extraco Bank locations. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WHBfamily.com.
