July 26, 1920 — February 8, 2002

VIRGINIA BURT Virginia Ruth Ginger Burt went home to her Heavenly Father Friday, February 8, 2002. Services will be held 1:30pm, Monday, February 11th at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Brother Paul Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the China Spring Cemetery. Ginger was born July 26, 1920 in Nacogdoches to John Edward & Myrtie Mae Reid Grimes. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School. She married Billie Boyd Burt on February 22, 1941. They lived most of their lives in China Spring, where they owned & operated a dairy for many years. Although she had six children, Ginger was a “second mom” to many family members & friends. In her younger years, Ginger was a Sunday School teacher at China Spring Baptist Church. She instilled in her children a great faith in God. Ginger was a loving, caring & compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister & friend. All who knew her were truly blessed and she will be greatly missed by her family & friends. Ginger was preceded in death by her mother and father, a sister, Annie Aline Grimes and a grandson, Michael Shane Burt. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billie; daughters & sons-in-law Linda & Vernon Kroll of China Spring, Peggy & Jimmie Kerr of China Spring & Ann & Marshall Owen of Woodway; sons & daughters-in-law Bill Jack & Sandra Burt of Levelland, Larry & Glenda Burt of Longview & Greg & Kathy Burt of Valley Mills; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister Lillie Mae Hayman of Huntsville & brother Cecil Howard Grimes of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lance Burt, Kyle Burt, Kade Burt, Wendell Burt, Todd, Kroll, Duane Kerr, Brian Kerr and Jerry Pierce; nephew Joe Burt & family friend Alex Dominguez. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson Cameron Owen & nephew John Grimes. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of China Spring or a favorite charity. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
