Virginia Elizabeth Lane October 23, 1921 - November 16, 2013 Virginia Lane of Waco passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Providence Hospital. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Bro. Terry Graham officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Virginia was born October 23, 1921, in DeQuincy, Louisiana, to Jonah and Mary Leon. She was a librarian in Beaumont until she retired in 1986. She moved to Waco in 2009 to be closer to family. She was a member of First Baptist Church Woodway and was very active in her Sunday School class. She enjoyed traveling and spent several years in Japan with her husband, Fred, while he served in the U.S. Air Force. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred James Lane; a son, Sergeant James Michael Lane; and son-in-law, Brock Morris. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Morris of Waco and Carol Ann Lane of Houston; three grandchildren, Drs. Jenny Carl and husband, Leighton Carl, Seth Morris and fiancee, Sherri DePriest, and Benjamin Lane of Nederland, TX; daughter-in-law, Renee Bell and husband, Wes Bell, of Kirbyville, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Miriam, Zeke, Judah and Esther Carl. Pallbearers are Tommy Leon, Seth Morris, Benjamin Lane, Leighton Carl, Zeke Carl, Judah Carl and Thomas Jones.
