Virginia Frances Robinson December 22, 1922 - April 24, 2009 Virginia Frances Robinson, 86, of Waco, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, at Providence Hospital. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, at Oakwood Cemetery, with her minister, Jim Martin, officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Virginia was born December 22, 1922, in Corinth, Mississippi, to O.O. and Juanita Babb Emmons. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Central High School in 1941. She attended the University of Tennessee for two years and graduated from Southwestern College now Rhodes College in Memphis in 1945. She married Charles Angus Robinson in September of 1947. They lived most of their married life in Birmingham. Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She dearly loved her children and their families. She was a member of Crestview Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; her brother, Edwin Emmons; and her sister, Mary Louise Stafford. Survivors include her two sons, Michael A. Robinson and wife, Roberta, of Waco; and Glen D. Robinson and wife, Fran, of LaPlata, New Mexico; daughter, Susan Luth and husband, Ron, of Estero, Florida; granddaughters, Elizabeth Barnhill and husband, Bryon, Lauren Satterfield and husband, Josh, all of Waco; and Blair Bankhead of Birmingham; grandsons, Michael A. Robinson, Jr., and wife, Jilinda, of Frisco, Texas; Zachary Robinson and wife, Jessie, of Denver, Colorado; and Captain Matthew Robinson, US Army, of Fort Erwin, California; and seven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Providence Park, Providence Hospital, and Providence Hospice for the care and concern they gave our mother. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
