Virginia Mitchell Fitzhugh September 27, 1916 - November 28, 2015 Virginia Mitchell Fitzhugh of Waco passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Aaron M.G. Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Virginia was born September 27, 1916, in Valley Creek, Texas, to Henry and Addie Mitchell. She graduated from Waylon Baptist College and Baylor University. She was an active member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed a rich social life in Waco for over 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William H. "Billy" Smith and Thomas Champe Fitzhugh, Jr.; two sisters, Pauline Knox and Grace Clayton; and one brother, Marshall Mitchell. She is survived by one son, William H. Smith, Jr. and Jewel F. Logan of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Ginny Smith Blakley and husband, Rich, of Lone Tree, CO; one granddaughter, Catherine Leigh Smith of Plano, TX; two grandsons and families, Will and Heidi Blakley of Morrison, CO and Connor and Molly Blakley of Littleton, CO; two great-grandsons, Deacon and Mason Blakley; a son, Tom and Jan Fitzhugh of Houston, TX; two daughters, Randy and Glenn Ford of Midlothian, TX and Wendy and David Crowley of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Mitchell Alexander and numerous nieces and nephews.
