Virginia "Sue" Jones Tidwell

Virginia Jones Tidwell April 19, 1932 - July 20, 2015 Virginia "Sue" Jones Tidwell, 83, of Waco, Texas, went to be with the Lord and reunite with her beloved husband and family on Monday, July 20, 2015, at a local nursing home. Her graveside service will be at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 24, at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Sue was born April 19, 1932, in Waco, to Malcolm H. Jones and Lola Belle Jones. She attended Bells Hill Elementary, South Waco Jr. High, Waco High School and Baylor University. On September 19, 1948, Sue married Kalvart K. Tidwell, Jr., the love of her life. They had a wonderful marriage of 67 years before Kalvart passed in 2010. Preceding her were her parents; her husband, two sisters, Oleta Jones and Melba Brown; a brother, Malcolm Jones; and son-in-law, Chuck Smith. Surviving children are her daughter, Jan Smith, of Moshiem, Texas; and son, Kalvart K. Tidwell III and wife, Brenda, of Crawford, Texas; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Agnes Donaldson; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are grandsons, Casy Smith and Brandon Tidwell, nephews, Ronnie Jones, Gary Jones, Leland Oaks and longtime friend, Don Buster. Memorials may be made to Sue and K.K.
