Vivin Earl Merritt, Sr. June 5, 1923 - October 25, 2013 Vivin Earl Merritt, Sr. of Harper, Texas, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, at his residence. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Cary Killough officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Earl was born June 23, 1923, at Mooreville, Texas, to Beulah and Ira Merritt. He owned and operated Merritt Dental Lab in Waco for many years. Earl was a life-long Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jo Merritt; a grandson, Jay Southworth; his brother, Thomas Merritt and a great grandson. Mr. Merritt is survived by daughters, Jo Gail Dolenski and husband, Tony, of Spring, Texas; Lee Southworth and husband, Jim, of Georgetown, Texas; and son, Earl Merritt, Jr. and wife, Jan, of Harper, Texas. His surviving grandchildren are Lisa Pennington, Jenni Elenniss, Joel Londenberg, Elizabeth Dougan, Stacy Sims, Aaron Dolenski and Alicia Dolenski. He has 23 surviving great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Jean Spradlin and husband, Ray, of Robinson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Earl Merritt, Jr., Jim Southworth, Tony Dolenski, Ray Spradlin, Paul Dougan, Jacob Pennington and Nicolas Escobar.
