W. A. ''Pete'' Pack

July 26, 1937 — August 25, 2003

PACK, W. A. “PETE” W. A. “Pete” Pack, age 66, of Valley Mills died Monday, August 25, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30pm Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Harley B. Gordon officiating. Visitation will be from 10am-12noon Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Pack was born July 26, 1937 in Purcell, Oklahoma to the late William H. and Lola Lou Franklin Pack. He was a graduate of Midway High School where he received a full scholarship from Texas A & M for football, but chose to stay and work the family farm and ranch. He married Carol Ann Sockwell June 11, 1966 at Harris Creek Baptist Church. A farmer and rancher at heart he worked in the oil industry for a number of years. He worked for Brune Pump and Utility in Valley Mills and owned his own automotive repair shop. He was a longtime member of Lions International. He was a Baptist. Survivors include wife, Carol Ann Pack of Valley Mills; sons, Thomas “Tom” Pack and wife, Christy of Raleigh, North Carolina and David Pack and wife, Jackie of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; two grandchildren, William Haze Pack and Madison Taylor Pack; and sister, Lynda Pack Yuhas and husband, Michael of Waco. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation.
