Walter Franklin Jones

WALTER F. JONES, age 91, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2001. Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Oakwood Cemetery, Reader George R. Brown officiating. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jones was a life long resident of McLennan County, having been born in Moody in 1910 to the late Charley and Laverne Jones. He had been a Waco resident for 75 years. He was employed at General Tire and was a barber at his shop at 1425 Herring until his retirement. Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Bertie Null Jones. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Freeman Jones; daughter: Billie Staehlin and her husband Winston of Evergreen, CO and Jerre Perkins and her husband Tom of Austin; grandsons: Don Staehlin of Houston and David Staehlin of Colorado and granddaughters Valerie Cundiff of Virginia and Wende Wood of Austin; and great grandchildren: Jeremy, Carley, Sheradon and Maggie Staehlin and Jessie and Kellie Eagle. The family would like to express gratitude to Joyce Rosas for her devoted caregiving during Mr. Jones’ illness. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Hospice. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
