Walter John Rusek December 15, 1931 - April 18, 2007 Walter John Rusek of Waco passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. David Leibham officiating. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Walter was born December 15, 1931 in Buffalo, NY to Peter Valentine Rusek and Aniela Rusek. He and Georgia Kelley were married in 1953. He served four years in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant and later graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. His career as a mortgage banker and banker included years with Citizens State Bank in Woodville and in Marlin. Walter was an active Rotarian and an avid fisherman. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Georgia of Waco; daughter, Angie Hammond; son, Peter and wife, Robbye; son, John and wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Christopher, Rachel, Rebecca, Cliff, Clay, Mary Beth and Walt Rusek. Also surviving is his sister, Helen Rasmus and husband, Chester of Buffalo, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends for Life, Central Texas Senior Ministry or charity of your choice.
