Wanda Ann Sauls

November 12, 1931 — February 3, 2025

Waco

Wanda Hancock Sauls, 93, passed away on Feb 3, 2025, at Baylor S&W Hospital. She will be cremated and requested that no services be held.

Wanda was born on Nov 12, 1931, in Abbott, Texas, to Delbert and Fannie Diggs, the youngest of five children. She was working at Orange Oasis in downtown Waco when she met Bill Hancock at the age of 18. They married shortly thereafter on Dec 23, 1949. A year later, their first daughter was born, and four years later, they had a second daughter, which completed their family. Wanda was a homemaker for many years before working at Waco Sand & Gravel. Later, she worked at Baylor in the Student Union Building and enjoyed all the students she met there.

She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She especially loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had countless faithful friends whom she loved as well. She lived at Arbor House Assisted Living Facility for the past eight years and was so thankful for the many caregivers, other staff, and the many friendships she made along the way while living there.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Hancock, in 1985, and her second husband, Johnnie Sauls, in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Henson and husband Raymond; her daughter Mitzi Laird and husband Ronnie; her four grandchildren, Amy Weber and Tyler of Crowley, Justin Henson and Hillary of Robinson, Mark Laird and Lina of Austin, and Jenna Baltera and Russell of Austin; her five great-grandchildren, Riley Henson, Berkley Weber, Quinn and Erin Laird, and Rocco Baltera. She is also survived by her best friend and companion, her dog Angel, who was always at her side.

The family requests that, should you wish to donate, please give to the charity of your choice.
