Wanda Stanford passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Brumit officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Wanda was born July 14, 1943, in Sylacauga, Alabama, to Raymond and Myrtis Handley. Wanda worked in property management. She could never pass up a good cup of coffee, beautiful roses, or a delicious piece of chocolate. She had the most immaculate gardens, a collection of antiques that would make any museum jealous, and a love for traveling and trying new foods. Wanda’s family was the most important part of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Anthony Pinkston; and brothers, Robert Handley and Michael Elrod. She is survived by her husband, William D. Stanford; daughter, Tammy Towner and husband, Roger; grandchildren, Donald Eskew, Jr., and wife, Karen, Jeffrey Eskew, Brittney Marek and husband, Chris, Tiffany Flores and husband, Justin, and Christopher Towner and wife, Taylor; and great-granddaughter, Parker Jane Marek. Pallbearers are Donald Eskew, Jr., Jeffrey Eskew, Christopher Towner, Christopher Marek, and Justin Flores. Memorials may be made to St Jude’s, in lieu of flowers.
