Wanda F. Wachtendorf passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Wittenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Wanda was born June 13, 1957, in Waco, Texas, to William and Lillie Hollon. Over the course of 44 years, she worked alongside her husband, Wayne at 7-Eleven, Circle K, Skinny’s, Methodist Children’s Home, and for Baylor event staff. She enjoyed keeping her lawn manicured, collecting milk glass, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillie Hollon.
She is survived by husband, Wayne Wachtendorf; daughter, Debra Matus and husband Joseph of Aquilla; son, Steven Wachtendorf and wife Robin of Waco; her grandchildren, Cameron, Hawk, and Kennedy Wachtendorf, Joey Matus; and countless other relatives and beloved friends.
Pallbearers are Jason Freeland, Jeff Wachtendorf, David Maddison, Robert Ayers. Bobby Machac, and Paul Galindo. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Betke and Richard Wallace.
