Wesley Ray “Butch” Harvey February 23, 1946 – June 19, 2006 Longtime Hallsburg resident Wesley Ray “Butch” Harvey, passed to his Lord after a long battle with a debilitating disease. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:30 am Thursday, June 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel. At the conclusion of the service, a gathering of family and close friends of Butch’s will be held at his mother’s home. Butch was born in San Diego, CA and moved to Waco to be close to his extended family. He was the loving son of Leonard R. and Martha L. Harvey of Hallsburg. He is survived by his mother, Martha; his faithful and devoted wife of 28 years, Deborah; his sons, John Harvey of Euless, TX; Michael Spencer and wife, Becky of Tucson, AZ, Westley Fouts and wife, Ashley of Waco, TX and Jason Harvey of Hallsburg, TX; daughters, Wendi and Denise, both residing in California. His family also includes sisters, Patricia Harvey of Hallsburg and Vera Eddleman of Waco; eight grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces from the Hallsburg and Waco area. All loved and cherished him. Butch was preceded in his passing by his paternal grandparents, John Wesley and Bertha Harvey; maternal grandparents, Frank “Tex” and Vera Wigley; and his daddy, Leonard. He was an extremely courageous man who enjoyed every day of his life to the fullest. Butch was the construction superintendent for C. Young and Company, Inc., Waco branch. Butch was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting with his family and many friends. Every person who ever knew this loving man appreciated his wit and devotion to his family. He will be missed greatly by all. He now walks with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Butch’s name to the American Cancer Society.
