William Arthur McDonald April 23, 1959 - June 19, 2016 William Arthur McDonald of Waco passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Providence Hospice Place. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Dr. Grant Kaul officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. William was born April 23, 1959 in Trenton, New Jersey to Charles Kenneth and Nancy Juanita McDonald. William’s family moved many times to small Texas towns, but he called Brady home, where he lived since the age of eight. William attended Southwest Texas State University majoring in Finance. He started working in banking upon graduation in 1981 and has worked in the banking-related industry ever since, most recently with FirstCity Financial. He met Kathy Carson, in Austin Texas through a mutual friend. While dating they found out that William had actually lived in Kathy’s father’s childhood home in Brady, Texas. Ironically two Texas kids with Brady ties had to meet through a friend from North Dakota. The couple married in 1992 and started a family soon after. A loving husband and father, William was very gracious with his children. He was a patient homework helper editing papers, even at the last minute, and helping to figure out algebra and calculus problems. He was always quick to remind his children of God’s love and forgiveness even when they stumbled. For three years, William bravely fought cancer with the help of Dr. Carl Chakmakjian. He never once complained through treatment or pain but continued to press forward and trust God’s faithfulness even to his last day on this earth. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kathy McDonald, of Waco, TX; his daughter, Allie McDonald; his son, Carson McDonald; one brother, Charles McDonald; three sisters, Nancy Nelson, Dorinda McDonald and Kate McDonald; one niece, Sunny Nelson; one nephew, Wilson McDonald; and numerous cousins and in-laws. Pallbearers are Charles McDonald, Carson McDonald, Wilson McDonald, Andy Carson, Jay Boatright, Mark Freeland, Frank Piekos and David Leitch. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Bible Church.
