William "Bill" H. Beazley

Wm. "Bill" H. Beazley March 3, 1931 - September 20, 2014 William Henry Bill Beazley, Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, at his life-long church home, First Baptist Waco. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. He was born March 3, 1931 to William Henry & Queenie Vee Beazley at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Waco High School and received his BBA from Texas A&M College in 1952. Shortly after graduation he served in the United States Army serving his country in Korea for two years. While at A&M, he met and fell in love with Lea Wilkinson. They married on August 23, 1952 and together they made their home in Waco for the next 54 years raising four children. Lea preceded him in death. In 2007, he fell in love all over again with Madeline Madge Currier. They married on June 14, 2008 and spent the next six years traveling, living, and enjoying life. Bill was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren whether at home or traveling to Colorado or Chile. He was an expert fly-fisherman and watching him cast his fly rod was awe-inspiring. Those who knew him remember Bill as a loving man who cared more about others than he did himself. He taught his children by example of what it means to be a person who loves God and others ahead of self. His favorite Bible verse was the same as his mother's; "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24. He lived his life rejoicing and thankful for what the Lord had given him. Many people have told his children he is the example of what it means to be a friend: caring, loving, and full of life. Bill is survived by his loving wife Madeline Madge, sister Betz McGee and husband Del of Forney, TX, brother Bob Beazley and wife Nina of McKinney, TX; children, Nanci Elise Beazley, of Creede, CO, Peggy Lea Hock and husband, Jon, of Dallas, TX, William Henry Trey Beazley, III, and wife, Beth, of Southlake, TX, and Mary Frances Fran Phillips, and husband, Tom, of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Melissa Lea Graham and husband, Jon, of Creede, CO, Alex Hock, of Dallas, TX, William Henry IV and wife Katy, Austin, Rachel and Ross Beazley, of Southlake, TX, and Sarah Belle and Mary Lea Phillips, of Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Baylor/Scott & White Hillcrest Baptist Hospital Cancer Center, First Baptist Church of Waco Foundation, or South Texas Children's Home.
