He loved Baylor University and served on their Board of Trustees. He also served on the board of Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco. He had an avid interest in history, authored two books on antique cure bottles, and was president of the Dr. Pepper Club in Waco, but his faith and family brought the greatest joys to his life.
