William E. Boyd

William E. Boyd July 1, 1929 – January 21, 2011 William E. Boyd of Lorena passed away Friday, January 21, 2011. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. William was born July 1, 1929 in Burkburnett, Texas, to William and Agnes Needham Boyd. He was a 1950 graduate of Texas A & M University and East Texas State University Master's. He worked for the USDA Farmers Home Administration. He was a member of the Masons for 60 years, receiving his 60 year pin on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was a member of Castillion Lodge 141 in Canton, TX and M. Denton Stanford Lodge 594, in Lorena, TX, and also a member of the Shriners. William was also a former mayor of Lorena. After his retirement from the USDA, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of woodworking and built up a business which he named "Original Boydhouses". William has been a lifelong Baptist and a member of First Baptist Lorena in Lorena for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife Jo Ella Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Anita Boyd, Lorena, TX; daughter, Katherine Jones, San Antonio, TX; sons, William Edward Boyd, Jr., daughter-in-law, Pat Widmaier, of Racine, WI, William R. Wilson, and wife Michelle, Canton, TX; grandchildren, Brian Jones, Ben Boyd, Joe Boyd, Andrew Wilson, Elisa Joseph, and husband Michael, Cari Williams and husband Josh; great grandchildren, Samuel, Katie, Jaxon, Anabelle, and Berkley.
