William G. Gohring

William G. Gohring January 20, 1926 - March 24, 2010 William G. Gohring of Waco passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit with Father John Wells officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Bill was born January 20, 1926 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Ralph and Avis Gohring. He graduated from Drake University; and served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He and Skip Lochmiller were married on October 22, 1956. After a career at Meredith Press, Bill and his family moved to Waco to accept an executive position with Word Inc. He was a consultant/agent for several recording artists and authors. In his leisure time, Bill enjoyed golf, tennis and Baylor athletics. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Skip; and one sister, Gwen Hardy Gilbert. He is survived by three sons, Bill Gohring and wife, Lisa; Charlie Gohring and wife, Angie; and Steve Gohring and wife, Jan; grandchildren, Stephen and wife, Brittany, Staci, Scott, R.J., Casey, Megan, Amanda and Rob; godson, Clinton Stanton and several nieces and one nephew. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Stanton, Dr. Chuck Hurdy, Steve Hendrickson, and Dr. Jackson Walker. Memorials may be made to Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit or the charity of choice.
