William Joseph Strakos

William Joseph Joe Strakos, 50, passed away Friday, June 10, 2005 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6125 Bosque Blvd. with the Rev. Norm Steinke officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5 – 7 pm on Monday, June 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Joe was born February 24, 1955 in San Angelo, Texas to Ben and Gladys Strakos and moved to Waco with his family in 1967. He attended schools in San Angelo and Waco, graduating from Reicher High School in 1973. He then attended TSTC, where he studied livestock and farm management. On November 11, 1979, Joe married his wife, Susan Teske, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waco. Joe was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he currently served as an Elder. At the time of his death, Joe was employed with Davis Iron Works. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Ben Strakos, and father-in-law, Raymond H. C. Teske, Sr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Susan; mother, Gladys Strakos of Waco; brothers, Ben Ray Strakos and wife Helen of Land O’Lakes, Fl., John Strakos and wife Susie of Temple, Tx., David Strakos and wife Theresa of Temple, Tx.; fourteen nieces and nephews and his beloved pets.
