Bill Barnard April 7, 1941 March 12, 2010 William O. Barnard of Groesbeck passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at Providence Hospital. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Joe Tucker of Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., March 16, 2010 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Bill was born April 7, 1941 in Brownsville, Texas to Oscar and Blanche Barnard. He served in the U.S. Army 23 years. He had a degree in biomedical maintenance, air-conditioning and refrigeration, and was very knowledgeable in horticulture and geology. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Upton and Blanche Elisabeth Barnard. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maricela Dolores Barnard; two daughters, Dawn Michelle White and husband Lenny of Miami, FL, and Desiree Elisabeth Peterson and husband Jason of Waco; three grandchildren, Christopher William and Destiny Ann White, and Ryleigh Elisabeth Peterson; brother, Joseph Barnard and wife Yolanda of Corpus Christi; nieces, Kimberly Avants, Kara Steinocher, and nephew Kenneth Barnard.
