William Mahlon “Mobe” Reynolds, 87, of Waco, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005. Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 23, at 4pm at the funeral home, with Dr. R. Scott Walker officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Garden Room of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. A private family burial service is planned for Monday, Jan. 24, at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Reynolds was born to Macie Swilling and Joe Finus Reynolds October 12, 1917, the younger of two sons. He married Lois Lenora Hughes December 26, 1942, and they lived most of their lives in Plano, Texas. Mr. Reynolds was a musician, performing live on the radio as “Bashful” Reynolds with the Sunshine Trio of Lubbock; the Dixie Ramblers of Plano; and Wells Brothers Band of Plano. He was employed by Wells Brothers Seed & Grain in Plano and retired in 1982 to move to Waco. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco. Mr. Reynolds is survived and loved by his daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Jerry Jones of Waco; grandson, Jason Jones of Dallas; grandson and wife, Jerod and Tara Jones; and great-grandson, Camden Reynolds Jones, all of Waco. Honorary pallbearers are dear friends, Joe Grady Thomas, Joe Pilliod, Richard Wells, Johnny Wells, Johnny Merriman, Kerry Tull, Danny Jackson, and Merle McCuistian. The family would like to thank Ridgecrest Retirement Center and Vista Care Hospice for caring for Mr. Reynolds. First Baptist Church of Waco has been designated to receive gifts in his memory.
