William Terry Irwin March 22, 1944 - March 5, 2014 William Terry Irwin of Crawford passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at his residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 10, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Terry was born March 22, 1944, in Herrin, Illinois. He was raised in Austin and San Angelo. Texas. Following college at ASU, he joined Texas Army National Guard where he retired as Captain in 1971. In San Angelo, he met the love of his life, Brenda Parker, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Terry served as Past President of Waco Downtown Rotary Club, Waco Chamber of Commerce, Waco Foundation, Waco Business League, W. I. S. D, and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Hospital Board for 9 years. He also served as Deacon and Director of the Adult Sunday School Department at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Waco. Following a 27 year career in management with Lone Star Gas, he retired in 1994. He owned ABBA Medical Supply before retiring a second time. Terry was hand-picked in 1996 by Paul J. Meyer, and served as CEO of the Paul J. Meyer companies, where he loyally served for the rest of his days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margarette Irwin. Terry is survived by his devoted and beloved wife, Brenda Irwin of Crawford; his daughters, Jennifer McPike and husband, Craig, of Montgomery, Alabama, and Ashley Smith and husband, Micah, of Crawford, Texas; son, James Irwin and wife, Brooke Fendrick Irwin, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren, William, Kyle and Sarah McPike, Rachel and Reagan Smith, and Noah and Parker Irwin; brother, Jon Irwin of Oxnard, California; sister, Georgia Douglass of Wheaton, Illinois; sister, Cindy Altemore of Dallas, Texas; brother, Ken Irwin of Temple, Texas; and brother, Mark Irwin of San Angelo, Texas. In addition, he is survived by his beloved best friend of 58 years, brother-in-law, Charles Pfluger and his wife, Helen Parker Pfluger, sister of his wife, Brenda and their son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Stacy Pfluger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at PanCan.org, The Kenneth and Margarette Stephenson Irwin Endowed Scholarship at Wheaton College, 501 College Ave., Wheaton, Illinois 60187, or the charity of your choice.
