William Wintford Taylor, Jr. December 3, 1924 - July 24, 2008 William W. Taylor, Jr. died Thursday, July 24, 2008. His memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Chuck Treadwell and Rev. Frank Mangum presiding. Visitation with the family will follow in the Parish Hall. Bill was born December 3, 1924 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was the son of W.W. Taylor and Gladys Daly Taylor. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1942 and entered the University of Texas where he became a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He returned to school and received his B.B.A. degree. Bill married Lucille Clark Kelley in 1949 in Lockhart, Texas. After three years in Snyder, Texas, they moved to Waco. He was one of the organizers and President of the Waco Homebuilders' Association. Bill founded William Taylor & Co. in 1954 and remained active in the business until October of 2006. Being an active churchman, he served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden of St. Paul Episcopal Church. Bill also enjoyed being a Rotarian for over forty years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Robert Winkler and nephew Clayton Winkler. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; son, Ford Taylor and wife, Ellen of Waco; daughter, Jennifer Magill and husband, Bert Magill of Houston; grandchildren, Kelley Magill and Brett Magill of Houston; sister, Carolyn Winkler of Midland, Texas; nephew, Robert Winkler and wife, Karen of Midland; niece, Diane Campbell and husband, John of Atlanta, Georgia and great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Rotary Club of Waco Scholarship Fund or the charity of your choice.
