Willie "Billie" Holt Clifton

Willie “Billie” Holt Clifton, 93 died Friday, August 27, 2004 at a local nursing facility. Services will be held at 2pm Monday, August 30 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Billie was born May 17, 1911 to Mary Ann and Ira Gaston Holt. She graduated from Crawford High School in 1929 and attended Business College in Fort Worth. She married G. B. “Jabo” Clifton on January 21, 1939. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before his death in 1991. After the death of their daughter, Patricia, in 1950, she worked with him in his business until their retirement in 1972. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #7, a charter member of The Providence Hospital Auxiliary, and First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Clifton was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Hale and husband, James of Belton and Beverly Schwan and husband, Jack of Waco; granddaughters, Patricia Johnson of Cypress, Texas, Carolynn Morton and husband, Alex of Fort Worth, Kimberly Littlewood and husband, David of Waco, and Karen Schechter and husband, David of College Station and five great grandchildren.
