Willie Wade Chandler January 17, 1920 - July 17, 2008 Willie Wade Chandler of Waco passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008. There will be a private family burial service. Wade was born in Leon County, TX to Samuel Walter Chandler and Estella Brown Chandler on January 17, 1920. Wade served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during his service in the Pacific Theater. He returned home from the war and married Jimmie Lee Moore. Wade was a member of the George N. Denton Masonic Lodge of Waco and VFW Post 2148 of Waco where he served for a time as post commander. He worked many years for Texas Power and Light Co. and retired from the City of Waco in 1983. In his younger years, Wade was an avid fisherman who enjoyed traveling and fishing the streams of Colorado and the lakes of his native Texas. Wade was a devoted husband and family man who's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. Wade is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jimmie Lee Chandler; daughters, Lori Weaver of Waco and Phyllis Kelly and husband, Jerry of Waco; grandchildren, Perry Weaver of Waco; Jade Andrews and husband, Mike of Austin; and Patrick Wade Kelly of Waco; and brother, Charles Ray Chandler of Centerville, TX.
