WARDLAW, WILLIE Willie Wardlaw Mrs. Newt Wardlaw, age 99, of Waco, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at a local nursing home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption at 10:00AM Friday, December 7th with Rev. Angelo Bertini officiating. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM Thursday, December 6th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Wardlaw was born April 17, 1902, the daughter of Alonzo and Dora Mapes, early ranchers in Runnels County, Texas. She married Newton J. Wardlaw in Ballinger, September 16, 1920; he preceded her in death in 1977. Most of Mrs. Wardlaw’s young adult life was spent in Del Rio, Texas. She is survived by daughters, Billye Warner and husband, James M. of Waco, Ann Estes and husband, Russell of Midland, Sitta Rowe and husband, Billy of Del Rio, son, Pat N. Wardlaw and wife, Vicki of Waco, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, 4830 Lakewood, Waco, Texas 76710 and Saint Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption, 1401 Washington, Waco, Texas 76701. The family would like to express their gratitude for their Mother’s care by the Heart and Home Nursing Home and especially to Dedi and Darlene for their loving care. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
