Winnie Dee Davis April 5, 1913 - July 3, 2010 Winnie Dee Davis of Waco passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the age of 97. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Waco Memorial Park Chapel. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque. Winnie was born April 5, 1913 in Gatesville, Texas to Edgar and Mable Carter. She graduated from Gatesville High School and attended Baylor University. She worked at Amicable Life Insurance and later Waco Board of Realtors. She married James E. Davis in 1942 and together they had one son, Gary Ed Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar D. and Mable Carter; husband, James Edwin Davis; son, Gary Ed Davis; sister, Jewel Hallonquist. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Elaine Davis Bennett of Woodway; granddaughter, Tracey D. Palermo and husband Kevin of Austin; and two great-granchildren, Avery Morgan Palermo and Blake Edward Palermo.
