WINNIE MOORE Winnie Moore, age 84 of Waco went to be with the Lord Friday, December 26, 2003 at a Fort Worth hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. John Gartman officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 29 at the funeral home. Winnie was born June 22, 1919 in El Campo, Texas. She was the first child of Jim and Maud Mangum. Winnie grew up in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1936. She served in the Women’s Army Air Corp during World War II. In 1946 she married Jack A. Moore of Waco. They were married 55 years when he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Moore Cheney, in 1978. Winnie worked several years as a secretary for Watson Electric Supply. She and her husband enjoyed crafting for several years. Winnie was a member of Eagle Springs Baptist Church in McGregor. She was loved by all and will be missed. Survivors include her son, Doug Moore and wife Kim of Ben Brook, Texas; grandchildren, Jackie Laningham and husband Michael of Waco, Jason Cheney and wife Belinda of San Antonio, Jennifer Cheney and Chris Hahn, both of Waco, Whitney and Travis Moore of Fort Worth; great grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Laningham, Logan and Andrea Cheney and Caine Hahn; sisters, Louise Coone of Waco and Juanita Nixon of Speegleville; and brother, James Mangum of Schertz, Texas.
