Yvonne "Bonnie" Hooper

After celebrating her 100th birthday in September 2023, our beloved Yvonne "Bonnie" Canipe Hooper was called home by her Lord and Savior on November 16, 2023. Burial will be private. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, November 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in the Garden Room.

Bonnie was born and raised in Rosebud, Falls County, Texas on September 24, 1923. She was the only child of the late Lewis M. and Johnnye Little Canipe. She attended Rosebud schools and became the band sweetheart in high school. After graduation in 1941, she moved to Waco and entered 4-C Business College.

She started work at American Amicable Life Insurance Company in accounting until she met and married Thomas Edward Hooper on August 6, 1948. She then began a life of a devoted and loving wife and stay-at-home mother until 1967 when she went back to work at American Amicable. After retirement in 1985, she spent time helping with grand babies and working in the Central United Methodist Church office for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; parents, Lewis and Johnnye Canipe; daughter, Sherri Templeton Farmer; and an infant son.

Bonnie is survived by sons, Ron Hooper and wife, Marilyn; Jerry Hooper and wife, DeAnna; daughter, Cindy Bogard; grandchildren, Daniel Bogard and wife, Kelly; Tish Fray and husband, Mike; Nikki Ellison and husband, Jerry; Marshall Hooper and wife, Kristin; Katie Hooper; Courtney Meeker and husband, Kenneth; Kellie Ferrantelli and husband, Joseph; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their great appreciation for the wonderful care and assistance from Baylor Scott and White Hospice and Visiting Angels.
