Josh joined Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey as a Funeral Service Assistant in June 2014. Later that year, he transitioned to full-time as a pre-need counselor and began the process of becoming a licensed funeral director. In December 2015, he completed his degree in Mortuary Science from Amarillo College, and in April 2018, he graduated from the Leadership Academy through the trade association, Selected Independent Funeral Homes. Josh now serves as our Chief Operating Officer.
He grew up in Waco, graduating from Waco High School in 2002. He has been a close family friend of the Baileys since 2001. After receiving his Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Baylor University, he moved to Thailand for a year where he taught English as a second language. Josh has several years of experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Waco area.
In the Spring of 2019, he was elected to serve on the board of Selected Independent Funeral Homes and served as president of the association from 2021-2022. Locally, he served as the Chairman for the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2021 and is fluent in Spanish. He is a graduate of the Greater Waco Chamber's Leadership program, Class XXXV.
Josh currently serves as a Board of Trustee for the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network, TIF Board for the city of Waco, and the Advisory Committee of Waco Foundation’s Development of Strategic Assets (DSA).
He enjoys spending quality time with his family, especially his nephews and niece. He is a member of First Woodway Baptist Church. Some of his favorite activities include running trails in Cameron Park, playing tennis, traveling, and supporting the Baylor Bears.
Bill joined Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey in 2021 as a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer and became the Funeral Home Manager in 2024. He is a lifelong Wacoan, a 1981 graduate of Richfield High School and a 1983 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Bill began his funeral service career as an apprentice with Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home in downtown Waco at the age of 18.
After serving many Waco area families in his capacity as a Funeral Director/Embalmer, Bill left the funeral home in 1989 to pursue an opportunity in the banking industry at Texas National Bank of Waco. Due to the sale of the bank in 1999, Bill and his father purchased a General Motors automobile dealership in Gatesville. Bill co-owned and operated the Coleman Autoplex until he sold the car dealership soon after the death of his father and mother.
In 2006, Bill returned to funeral service helping Waco area families. After many years at other funeral homes, Bill was once again afforded the opportunity to join the staff at WHB. He feels blessed and very thankful to be able to serve others through the ministry of funeral service at WHB.
Bill is a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the proud father of Emily Katherine Coleman who is a student at The University of Oklahoma. Bill loves being a dad to Emily, cooking, traveling and quality time with his large extended family and many friends.
Steve Mansen is a Funeral Director and Administrative Assistant and has been with us since 2007. He grew up in Waco, graduating from Richfield High School, a graduate of Texas Christian University, Brite Divinity School, and Philips Theological Seminary. He is also a former pastor and is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children.
Abigail joined our WHB family in November 2017 as our Advance Planning Specialist. She grew up in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 2003. She went to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2007. After moving to Dallas for work, she moved back to Waco to be closer to family in 2013.
Abigail enjoys spending time with family and friends especially loving on her two nephews and godson. Her favorite hobbies include volunteering, running, cheering on the Horned Frogs, traveling, and being a hostess with the mostess. In May of 2020, she graduated from the Greater Waco Chamber's Leadership, Class XXXVI.
Susan works as an administrative assistant and has been with us since 2008. She graduated from Robinson High School, and is a former Rosebud-Lott Band Booster president and member of First Baptist Church in Lott. Susan has two sons, Bryan and Wiley IV, and a Maltese named Chloe. She enjoys gardening, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. She has been a participant in the Cattle Barron’s Style Show as a grateful cancer survivor.
Jenna Lee Mayfield is a Texan native, born in Austin and raised in the close-knit community of Lexington. Her passion for artistic endeavors was evident from an early age, leading her to pursue a degree in traditional darkroom photography at Sam Houston State University from 2001 to 2002. Eager to expand her skills in the digital realm, she transferred to the Art Institute of Dallas, where she completed her studies in Digital Media Production in 2005.
Following her academic journey, Jenna moved to Waco and soon met and married her husband, Brigham Mayfield, he had an existing successful photography studio and together establishing Mayfield Fine Photography in Waco, Texas. They captured cherished moments for countless families, leaving a lasting impact on their clients.
In 2023, driven by a desire for a career change, and interested in deathcare, Jenna found her calling within the esteemed Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey family. Her skills, passion for photography, digital design and helping people have proved a great fit for the role.
Apart from her professional life, Jenna cherishes her role as a loving mother to her six children, treasuring every moment spent with them. Her free time is devoted to her family, enjoying nature, indulging in her love for baking, and laughing together with loved ones as much as possible.
Baxter Bailey is our Sound & Video Technician. He has been with us since 2009. He is the oldest son of Hatch and Yvonne Bailey, the grandson of Bill and Roberta Hatch Bailey, and the fifth generation to serve at the funeral home. Baxter grew up in Waco and graduated from Bosqueville High School. He was a Private First Class in the Young Marines and has been involved with Kanakuk Kamps, K-Life, Cotton Palace, The Symphony Brass, and the First Baptist Church of Waco.
Odell Nevills is a funeral director's assistant. Since joining WHB in 2001, Odell has become an essential part of our organization. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. A committed community member, Odell serves as an Alderman on the Mart City Council, where he works to support local initiatives and foster growth in the area. He is also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mart, demonstrating his dedication to his faith and community. As a proud graduate of Mart High School, Odell values his roots and continues to contribute positively to the Mart and Waco communities.
Gil is a funeral director's assistant and transfer specialist and has been with us since 2021. He is a lifelong Wacoan and graduated from Richfield High School in 1981. He studied at McLennan Community College and Baylor University. Gil delivered mail in Waco for 34 years and retired from the United States Postal Service. His many interests include golf and gardening.
Michele became a part-time receptionist in 2021, while employed full-time as an advising specialist at McLennan Community College. She holds bachelor and master’s degrees from Baylor, and a master’s degree from Tarleton State University. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and doing home improvement projects with her grown children and dad. She grew up in McGregor and now lives in Woodway.
Laura began working with us as a part-time receptionist in 2015 while she remains employed full-time as an academic advisor at Baylor University. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Baylor and enjoys cooking, genealogy research, and any activities that involve her teenage son. She lives in Hewitt and is originally from the Crawford area.
Jim Shepelwich joined the WHB Family in 2023 as a Funeral Director's Assistant. Jim's hometown is Dallas, TX. He graduated from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business in 1974. He and his wife Lisa raised their two children in Ft. Worth where he served with several banks. In 2014, Jim and his wife moved to Waco, where they are members of First Baptist Church Waco. He worked in University Development at Baylor University for twenty years and retired in June 2020. Jim enjoys traveling, family gatherings, and spending time with his three grandsons at any Baylor athletic event.
Felix Ursua works as a funeral director’s assistant. He joined the WHB family in September 2017. Felix served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Englander Container Co. after 41 of service. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and services as a chaplain at the Waco Missions Recreation Club. You can find Felix dancing or working in his garden when he isn’t spending time with his family and grandchildren. Felix and his wife, Fidela, have three children, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Tony Galindo works as a Funeral Director’s Assistant at WHB. He joined the WHB Family in 2019 after retiring from L3 Communications with 28 years of continuous service. Tony and his wife Cookie have two wonderful children and one lovely granddaughter. He is a devoted life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since its inception in 1957. Tony became the Choir Director of the 10 o’clock mass on June 10, 1991 and loves serving the Lord. His hobbies include home landscaping, music, following the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, but most importantly spending time with his loving family.
Earl Cumbie joined the staff as a Funeral Director’s Assistant in July 2021. He holds a B.A. degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and he received his Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Earl served on the staff at four churches during his forty-four years of ministry as Associate Pastor in Education / Senior Adults. He and his wife, Melony, were married for almost forty years until her passing in November 2020. Earl enjoys yard work, travel and antiquing.
William Love is a Funeral Director’s Assistant and joined in the Fall of 2019. He earned degrees in music from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. William grew up in a pastor’s home and began serving churches in 1969 as a Minister of Music. He is currently the Associate Pastor of Senior Life at First Baptist Church Waco. William and his wife, Marianne, have two adult daughters. The Loves enjoy listening to a wide spectrum of musical styles, birding, gardening, watching movies, and singing.
Robert joined Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey in 2023 and helps as a Funeral Director’s Assistant. After graduating from Waco University High School in 1975, he served in the U. S. Air Force for four years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years. He was the founding pastor of Mighty Wind Worship Center in Waco. Currently, he is a member at Viento Fuerte Church at First Woodway serving as the church evangelist. He also volunteers for church outreach projects and church missions’ projects. He is married to Becky and they have six children and eight grandchildren. After riding motorcycles for 50 years, he enjoys yard work, cooking, Barbecue, watching sports, traveling and getting together in large family gatherings.
